Jane Kinnear

For 24 years I ran the family auction house, during which time I had the privilege of enjoying superb jewellery and silver pieces. My early days at Lincoln College of Art, as it then was, had given me a love of line and form.

As a senior nurse in operating theatres (career before children) I saw the most amazing line and form inside the human body.

With the sale of my business looming, I still had the unquenched desire to create, as if three children wasn't enough!

Having found 'In the Studio' Jewellery School and have not looked back.

I have now graduated from a full time three year course Sheffield Hallam University with a BA Hons in Silversmithing and Jewellery, which I thoroughly enjoyed, not to mention the roller coaster of learning at a very mature age which was a challenge! In particular I have enjoyed the company of my fellow students, most of whom are young enough to be my grandchildren.

I shall continue to learn and enjoy - you are never too old!
